Kerribee Park (Mareeba Rodeo Grounds) is the proud home of Savannah in the Round. It’s located just 7 kilometres from the centre of Mareeba in the Cairns Hinterland on State Route 27 - the main north/west road to the Gulf Country, and the start of the world famous 3,700-kilometre road trip across the top of Australia from Cairns to Broome, Savannah Way. The event takes place 66 kilometres from Cairns airport, or about an hour’s drive past the Kuranda range.
Savannah in the Round is unlike any other festival. Main Stage is inside the rodeo arena, with a floored mosh pit, COVID Safe pods for BYO camp chairs, and new tiered outdoor arena seating (simply select your preferred area when purchasing tickets). Your festival armband gives you admission to the festival precinct and your designated seating area. You are free to move around the festival precinct, including the mosh put area to enjoy main stage performances. Main Stage operates between 4pm and midnight on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Savannah in the Round will also program two support stages; the Big Top Music Hall and the Bull Bar – both of which will operate across the day, and after Main Stage until 2am.
Savannah in the Round offers campgrounds adjacent to the festival site, 24/7 security, medical support, a general store, and toilet/shower facilities. Additionally, your camping armband gives you access to a free shuttle bus service between Kerribee Park (the festival site) and the Mareeba town centre from Thursday to Sunday (inclusive).
